Employment Conditions for Live-in Housekeepers
- Days off: A minimum of 36 consecutive hours per week
The usual weekly rest arrangements are as follows:
Other rest arrangements may be negotiated, though this would affect the employee’s salary.
- Annual leave: 30 calendar days of annual leave per year.

Bonus payments: To comply with current legislation regarding 14 annual salary payments, the employee is entitled to 2 full bonus payments per year.
- Midday breaks: 2 hours for lunch and rest, which are not counted as working hours or hours of presence.
- Daily finishing time: The daily finish time should not exceed 21:00, as this is one of the primary reasons live-in staff leave their posts.
- Accommodation and meals: Live-in housekeepers are contracted with accommodation and meals included. A private, individual bedroom with adequate ventilation and heating in winter must be provided.
- Meals must be adequate and varied, generally sharing the family’s daily menus, with portions appropriate to the employee’s age and constitution.
Social Security Registration
The employer accepts the commitment and legal obligation to register the selected member of staff with Social Security, and to maintain contributions for the duration of the employment relationship.
This commitment is a condition for accessing our guarantee of free additional placement processes included in our service.
Our fee for one placement process: 1 month’s salary + 21% VAT, payable to the agency within 3 days of the employee commencing work.
Free replacement guarantee: We include 1 free replacement process during a 3-month guarantee period.
