The Main Duties of an Expert Newborn Baby Carer

• Supporting the mother and her newborn baby at home during the first weeks.
• After multiple births, when there are two or three babies to care for simultaneously.
• Night-time baby care so that parents can rest.
• Bathing the baby, giving massages, dressing them, changing nappies, helping them wind after feeds. If the mother is breastfeeding, the carer brings the baby to her bed. If bottle-feeding, the carer provides overnight feeds — whether formula or expressed breast milk.
